Josep Vergés Milano is CEO and scientific Director at Osteoarthritis Foundation International (OAFI), an independent non-profit patient foundation devoted to the prevention and treatment of osteoarthritis (OA), and to the improvement of the quality of life for patients with OA. He is a specialist is clinical pharmacology with experience in clinical research, clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, biomarkers, immunology, drug development and regulatory in the field of OA. Over the years he has held several positions among which Director of Pharmascience and Regulatory at Bioibérica Pharmaceutical, Member of the Evaluation Committee of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) of the INSERM and the Scientific Council of the Lorraine region evaluating different projects and research units in the field of rheumatology and pharmacology. Member of the Scientific Council and Directing Council of the Bioiberica Chair at Autonomous University of Madrid on Chronic Inflammation and Citoprotection (CABICYC). He authored and co-authored more than 50 publications in international scientific journals.
