Philip Batty is the Educational and Clinical Lead for the Independent Doctors Federation, and Medical Director at the Isokinetic Medical Group in London. Due to his strong experience in sports and exercise medicine, particularly rehabilitation, he has been involved in elite sports medicine for over 20 years. He worked as the deputy club doctor at Manchester United, before joining the Blackburn Rovers Football Club as Head of Sports Medicine. Combining this role, he took care for a range of athletes, both professional and recreational, of all ages and abilities at the English Institute of Sport. He contributed to setting standards as a former Vice President of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK and also held positions as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford and University of London, as well as working as an Honorary Consultant at Wrightington Hospital (UK). He was the Head of Sports Medicine at Manchester City the first year they went on to win the Premier League and was the England First Team rugby doctor for two years before taking on his current role at Isokinetic. His main interest focus on musculoskeletal injury and assessment, musculoskeletal ultrasound and injections, rehabilitation from injury and exercise as a therapeutic tool and to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease or cancer.
